PPE Ltd Warehouse, Harlow

The project involved the design and build of a warehouse facility. At just over 100m long, 15m wide and with a ridge height of 6m the new building was designed to provide extensive storage space.

Work commenced on site in September and with the prospect of working through the winter we made design changes to help ensure compliance with our fast track programme. Ground conditions dictated the use of piled foundations and we chose to use prefabricated ground beams to avoid as much weather sensitive work on site as possible. The early erection of the steel frame allowed us to clad the roof and sides before undertaking the power floated floors. Internally, the fit out was minimal with just fire alarms, power, lighting and space heating. This was carefully coordinated with the clients own contractors who undertook the racking and sprinkler system installation.
