RSSC Unit – Papworth Hospital

A new build specialist respiratory and sleep study centre (RSSC) at Papworth Hospital as an addition to their existing facilities. The site was located in an awkward area within the centre of the hospital’s grounds.

The project consisted of two 4 bed wards and two 2 bed wards located around a nurse’s station, consulting rooms and outpatient areas to the ground floor. The first floor was allocated solely for the extensive administration required in a modern hospital.

In conjunction with the new build, works were carried out to install a new back up generator to serve the hospitals essential supply. Careful coordination was required to install and commission the containerised plant, fuel tanks and control gear without disruption to the hospital.
