7 New Dwellings at Wimpole Road, Colchester

 

On behalf of the East of England Co-operative we constructed a new housing development on the grounds of the old Co-op dairy site and situated next to the existing Co-op food store.

The project involved the erection of 7 new dwellings consisting of three bedroom houses split into 3 blocks, 1 block of three houses and 2 blocks of two houses all with rear gardens and parking areas.

The ground works consisted of Vibro piling, reinforced concrete ground beams, drainage, service ducts, masonry and installation of pre-cast block and beam floor.

The super structure works included a traditional build comprising masonry walls, block work ground floor partitions, timber floors and metal stud partitions to the first floor. The roof consisted of timber trusses, slate roof covering and decorative chimneys.

External works included the installation of block paved parking area, brick masonry gardens walls with timber gates and fences with hedgehog holes.
