Stanborough School Phase 2 – Music and Drama Block

Following the successful completion of the new two storey teaching block, we have have now finished the second phase of works comprising a new Music and Drama Block.

The teaching block comprised of strip and pad foundations with substructure blockwork and block and beam flooring. The structure was constructed with a steel frame, concrete floor slab
and metal decked roof.

The external envelope consisted mainly of brickwork with elements of curtain walling and cladding. The internal leaf of the building was a SFS system with plasterboard and skim finish.

The new music and drama block includes classrooms, recording studios, a performance hall and WC’s. High level windows were installed to allow additional day light in to the music and drama
suites.

The demolition works took place once the students had moved in to their new.

The subcontractors appointed to complete phase 1 were also contracted for second phase allowing for a smooth transition and better cooperation on site.
