Today we’re celebrating an amazing milestone as our Construction Director, Steve Ewers, marks over 40 years with Evers.
Forty years of dedication, leadership and loyalty is a remarkable achievement. Over the past four decades, Steve has helped shape our business, delivered countless successful projects and, perhaps most importantly, supported and inspired so many people along the way.
Steve has always been passionate about developing the next generation of construction professionals. Whether working with apprentices, trainees or students, he’s never hesitated to share his knowledge, offer guidance and encourage others to build rewarding careers in our industry. Many of those he’s mentored have gone on to enjoy successful careers of their own, something we’re sure Steve is incredibly proud of.
Just to put those 40 years into perspective, when Steve first joined Evers…
📞 Mobile phones were the size of a briefcase.
💻 Drawings were still produced by hand on drawing boards.
🍺 A pint cost around £1.
🏡 The average UK house price was around £35,000.
Over those same four decades, Steve has also celebrated many milestones away from work – raising his family and now looking forward to an exciting new chapter as he prepares to become a grandad for the first time.
The construction industry has changed beyond recognition since Steve first joined, embracing CAD, BIM, drones, laser scanning, AI and digital collaboration. But throughout it all, Steve’s commitment, integrity and willingness to help others have never changed.
Steve, thank you for everything you’ve given to Evers over the last 40 years. Your impact can be seen not only in the projects you’ve delivered, but in the people, you’ve supported and the careers you’ve helped shape.
