7 New Houses at Wimpole Road, Colchester


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Friday 21st July 2017 practical completion was achieved for the 7 New Houses at Dairy Close, just off Wimpole Road, Colchester on behalf of East of England Co-operative.The new development was located on the grounds of the old Co-op dairy site and situated next to the existing Co-op supermarket.

The new housing development was made up of 7 three bedroom houses split into 3 blocks, 1 block of three houses and 2 blocks of two houses all with rear gardens and parking areas.

The ground works consisted of vibro piling, reinforced concrete ground beams, drainage, service ducts, masonry and installation of pre-cast block and beam floor.

The super structure works included traditional construction comprising masonry walls, block work ground floor partitions, timber floors and metal stud partitions to the first floor. The roof was constructed with timber trusses, slate roof covering and false decorative chimneys.

External works included the installation of block paved parking area, brick masonry gardens walls and timber gates and fencing with hedgehog holes.
