Sod Cutting Ceremony at Dame Alice Owen’s School, Potters Bar £5.25m

On Friday 15th June the Evers project team joined the school for a sod cutting ceremony at the Dame Alice Owen School in Potters Bar.

The ceremony marked the beginning of the design and construction of a new 3 storey general teaching block providing extra facilities for the school and the pupils.

Evers provided a shovel which was signed by the school’s head teacher, the premises manager and governors before the ‘first dig’ took place. The ceremony was also attended by a group of head students in year 9 at the school and they also participated in the ground-breaking event.

The signed shovel is to be placed inside a cabinet and will be displayed in the new teaching block once the works are complete.

A few members of the Brewers’ company also turned up to the ceremony to witness the beginning of the new project which they have funded. The Brewers’ Company are the trustees for two major foundations that supports Dame Alice Owen School, Potters Bar and Aldenham School, Elstree.
