Construction Manager of the Year Awards 2017

Evers relationship with the CIOB continues to develop with Steve Ewers attending the Construction Manager of the year awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

In the hotel ballroom TV Journalist Steph McGovern hosted the event for the 2nd time in her inimitable northern style and received a rapturous and raucous welcome.

In total there were 90 finalists invited from all over the UK to attend the awards evening in London. Only 10 finalists were shortlisted within each of the 9 categories and only 2 from each category went on to win a silver or gold medal or the overall winner.

A handful of the countries best site managers were interviewed by Steph and as you would expect a few future stars shone exceptionally bright.

Steve Ewers commented:

“It was great to attend the awards evening for the second time and to see how many enthusiastic and truly inspirational managers were entered and reached the CMYA finals. The winners looked shocked to receive such an accolade from their colleagues within the industry.

The Construction Manager of the Year awards are probably the most prestigious construction awards in the country and the calibre of the finalists reflected this.

What struck me was that I could see the attributes of all those people in our managers and colleagues and given the right circumstances, we too could have potential finalists or winners amongst us.

I would like to thank Helen Patel for the invite and the hospitality shown by the CIOB and as for next year… watch this space”.
