Chancellors School – Sports Hall and Teaching Block

An exciting project to design and build a new indoor sports hall with changing facilities and 7 classrooms, 4 offices and a MUGA pitch consisting of 3 all weather sports pitches.

The internal works consisted of fitted office furniture, fitted teachers walls, shower cubicles & toilets and changing room benching.The sports hall was fully equipped with basketball courts, cricket nets and several marked out courts.

In addition to the outdoor MUGA pitches the external works comprised of a long jump pit, an external canopy for a covered seating area and a large car park.

The structure was supported with piled foundations with reinforced ground beams a steel frame structure complete with a mixture of block & beam ground floor and an in-situ concrete slab to the sports hall. Pre-cast concrete stairs were installed and first floor composite deck and metal roof deck.

The buildings envelope consisted of an SFS frame with a mixture of render and rain screen cladding. The roof coverings were made up of single ply membrane with aluminium fascias and soffits and brise soleil on the south elevation.

Our team were able to work closely with the school despite all the difficulties associated with the pandemic and the project was delivered safely to meet the client’s time and within budget.
